About MeI am a licensed mental health counselor with the State of Washington. I earned both my B.A. degree in Psychology and my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from The University of North Florida. I have been a practicing counselor since 2010 working with couples, families, children, groups & individuals. My clinical focus has been on anxiety, distress related to patterns of perfectionism and overachieving, religious trauma and recovering from high control groups, navigating the pressures of business ownership and the entrepreneurial spirit, depression, body image and self esteem, and life change/transitions. In addition to private practice, I have also worked in non-profit community agencies that allowed me to work with a diverse population and in many systems. I have spent much time in the public school system providing adolescent and family therapy. My therapeutic approach varies with each client, as each person has their own lifetime of experiences to bring to the table and I strive to provide counseling tailored to your individual needs. I encourage each person to examine their thought processes and patterns, and how they relate to behaviors and relationships. Together, we examine the systems a person interacts with, and messaging received throughout life that influences their view of self. I believe in a supportive approach that identifies the individual strengths a person has to enact the changes they desire for themselves and their relationships, as well as how they engage with the world around them. I see my role as a facilitator, a resource, and someone with whom you can build a safe, trusting relationship that encourages you to explore yourself and work towards the growth you seek.
